Mental health is now recognised as a major societal issue. France, through its public authorities, has made it a national priority for the second year running.

Talking about the issue, receiving training, knowing how to listen and taking action when a colleague is facing difficulties are all ways of creating a more humane and supportive working environment.

The CFE-CGC Grenoble is committed to ensuring that mental health is no longer a taboo subject but a collective priority.

Mental health at work: working together

Convinced that prevention is a key means of safeguarding the health of all employees, the CFE-CGC Grenoble branch has taken its first concrete step by training several members in Mental Health First Aid (MHFA).

Why take action?

A European epidemiological survey* has shown that a significant proportion of the population has experienced mental health problems over the past year.

  • Anxiety disorders: 14%
  • Depressive and bipolar disorders: 7.8%
  • Substance-use disorders: 4.6%
  • Psychotic disorders, including schizophrenia: 1.2%
  • Problem gambling
  • Eating disorders

What the MHFA training course offers

Mental Health First Aid training provides practical guidance on:

  • Better understanding situations of psychological distress
  • Adopting an appropriate listening approach
  • Referring people to the right support services
  • Helping to prevent mental health-related risks

Because everyone has a part to play

Our aim is simple:

  • To strengthen a culture of prevention
  • To foster a spirit of care and support
  • To offer a first point of contact for employees who feel they need it

Together, let’s make mental health a priority.

CFE-CGC Grenoble takes action

An initial group of six members of the section undertook the Mental Health First Aid training course in order to acquire practical tools to support staff, encourage active listening and refer them to the appropriate people when necessary.
